This CLE explores lawyers’ ethical responsibilities when using AI, emphasizing competence, confidentiality, and accountability. Attorneys must understand AI’s limitations, how to safeguard client data, and ensure compliance with privacy laws when using AI tools. Additionally, lawyers remain responsible for supervising AI-generated work and addressing issues of bias, fairness, and unauthorized practice. As courts and regulators set new precedents, firms must establish policies that ensure human oversight, ethical AI use, and compliance with evolving legal standards. This session will tie into specific ABA Model Rules and provide best practice considerations for integrating AI into legal practice responsibly.
This session has been approved for CLE accreditation in PA, TX, and TN.
Esteemed panelists include:
Cailin Heilig – Senior Director of Client Solutions and Innovation at Baker Donelson
Aleksander Goranin – Partner at Duane Morris
